I said something about Optimus Prime being one of the best heroes of my childhood, when my 12-year-old son piped up and said, “Wait, I thought Optimus Prime was the bad guy?” So, just in case you are wondering when Optimus Prime became bad, the answer is during the movie, Transformers: The Last Knight. He actually became a villain known as Nemesis Prime, after being brainwashed by Quintessa, a member of the race that created the Transformers.

After some epic battling, Optimus Prime is able to break Quintessa’s control, thanks in part to hearing his BumbleBee’s voice right before delivering a death blow. I won’t ruin the end for you in case you want to spend some time binge-watching these movies, which you can do on Vudu, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV!
